I want to ask you something. When do you think are the busiest times for divorce lawyers during the year? You might be surprised to learn it’s right after Valentine’s Day and Christmas. Why? Because that’s when cheaters get caught most often.

Think about it. Valentine’s Day rolls around and your cheating boyfriend has to remember to order flowers for you and his side chick. Christmas means buying jewelry for his wife and his coworker he’s been screwing. You’ve got different addresses, different delivery dates, different cards with different messages. And most guys just aren’t good at keeping all those details straight.

So what happens? He messes up. The florist sends your roses to her place, and the bouquet with the card that says, “Thanks for an amazing night,” ends up on your doorstep.

There’s this story from a divorce lawyer, Aubrey James. She was questioning a cheating husband in court and had his credit card statement right there. She asked him one simple question: “Why did you order seven different bouquets of flowers on Valentine’s Day?”

“Well, one for my mother, my wife’s mother, my wife, my daughter… and, uh… four other women.”

He basically admitted to having four affairs right there under oath.

And this whole thing with gifts shows you something really important to look for, because cheaters usually go one of two ways. Some guys just drop the ball completely. You get nothing, or maybe some cheap chocolates from the gas station, while he’s secretly buying her expensive jewelry.

But other guys do the total opposite because they feel guilty. All of a sudden, the guy who always forgets your birthday is buying you a five-hundred-dollar necklace. Both of those should be a red flag. If he’s never been the romantic type and suddenly he’s throwing expensive gifts at you, he might be trying to cover something up.

Now let’s talk about one of the biggest red flags of all: cash.

Big, random ATM withdrawals are a huge deal. Cheaters love using cash because it doesn’t leave a paper trail like a credit card does. One woman noticed her husband always used the same ATM near his office, but then she found a weird one. This withdrawal was from a mall ATM on February 12th, two days before Valentine’s Day. The amount was five times what he normally took out, and way more than he spent on her gifts.

But here’s a trick most cheaters don’t know about. They think cash is untraceable, but you can actually figure out where he took the money out. Every ATM receipt has a location or store number on it. So if you see a receipt for “ATM #4582 – CVS Pharmacy,” you can just Google “CVS location 4582” and it’ll show you the exact address. This works for grocery stores, gas stations, pretty much anywhere.

Another woman found ATM receipts from downtown Miami, about a block from a strip club. When she looked up charges that seemed to come from “B&T Food and Beverage,” she discovered it was actually a strip club called Booby Trap Cabaret. The $250 ATM charges suddenly made sense.

Let’s continue with a few more financial red flags in the next section.
